CHEUNG Hin Tat is currently a Chair Professor in the Department of Audiology and Language Pathology at Asia University. He has been conducting research in both first/ second language acquisition and developmental language disorders. Additionally, he has been collaborating with researchers and professionals from different disciplines to investigate the language acquisition process in learners from diverse backgrounds, as well as those with special education needs. Before joining Asia University, he held several leadership roles at the Education University of Hong Kong, where he served as the founding head of the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies. Prior to his tenure at the Education University of Hong Kong, CHEUNG Hin Tat also served as the Director of the Audio-Visual Educational Center and Chair of the Graduate Institute of Linguistics at National Taiwan University. Furthermore, he served the linguistics community in Taiwan as the President of the Linguistics Society of Taiwan from 2007 to 2009.
