Prof. Paul Law

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Prof. Paul Law studied linguistics at UCLA and MIT. He worked as a researcher at the University of Quebec at Montreal from 1991 to 1994 and at Zentrum fuer Allegmeine Sprachwissenschaft in Berlin, Germany from 1994 to 2007. From 2008 to 2020, he taught at the City University of Hong Kong. His interests lie in syntactic theory, the interfaces between syntax, morphology, semantics, and phonology, as well as cognition. He has conducted research on Romance, Germanic, Austronesian, Naxi, Vietnamese, and Chinese languages.
